The weekly review
Fifteen minutes on Friday afternoon or Monday morning to close the week and set up the next one.
Fifteen minutes, Friday afternoon or Monday morning, to see the week in relationships instead of just the inbox, and set up the week ahead.
Why it matters
The morning check-in catches today. The weekly review catches the shape of the week: who slipped through, what's coming, which sphere deserves extra attention next.
Skip this and you're always reacting to whatever's loudest in your inbox. Do it and you walk into Monday with an actual plan for who to talk to, not just a task list carried over from last week.
How it works
Do this Friday afternoon or Monday morning, whichever bookends your week for you. About fifteen minutes. The weekly wrap-up email lands Friday around 5pm with most of the raw material already gathered, so it's a good place to start rather than reconstructing the week from scratch.
How to do it
- Read the weekly wrap-up email when it lands, or pull up the dashboard if you'd rather see it live. It covers your numbers for the week, your most active spheres, and who's overdue. You can control this and your other notifications from notification preferences, but read a few before you turn it off.
- Look at next week's meetings and who's in them. Your calendar syncs automatically, so this is already sitting on your dashboard.
- Check the next week or two of special dates: birthdays, anniversaries, anything you'd rather plan for than scramble on the day.
- Look at who slipped this week, the suggestions you ignored or let go stale. You don't have to act on all of them. Just decide, once, that you're choosing to let them wait.
- Skim uncategorized contacts for anyone active this week who deserves a real home.
- Pick one sphere to lean into next week. Check its cadence still makes sense, and note who in it you want to reach first.
What good looks like
- You know, walking into Monday, which sphere gets extra attention this week.
- Special dates aren't a surprise; you saw them coming a week out.
- You're making a real choice about who slipped, not just feeling vaguely guilty about it.
If you fell off
Skipping this for a month or two doesn't cost you what you'd think. Nothing is broken, it's just been quiet.
Restart with the wrap-up email and the calendar look-ahead alone, steps one and two. That's five minutes. Add the rest back in next week.
