Know who to reach out to next
Two kinds of nudges, it's-been-too-long and job-change, tell you who to reach out to before you'd have noticed yourself.
Relatable watches your network and tells you who's worth reaching out to before you'd have thought of it yourself.
Why it matters
You can't hold your whole network's timing in your head — who you promised to check in with quarterly, who just changed jobs and deserves a note. Suggestions do that watching for you, so staying in touch stops depending on you happening to remember at the right moment.
How it works
A suggestion is a nudge that appears on your dashboard. There are two kinds. The first comes from a sphere's cadence: if you set a sphere to "quarterly" and it's been longer than that since you spoke to someone in it, a suggestion appears for them. The second comes from LinkedIn: when someone in your network changes jobs, Relatable flags it as a reason to reach out. Either way, you get a real choice of what to do about it, not just a nag to dismiss.
How to use it
- Open a suggestion from your dashboard, the mobile app, or Friday's weekly wrap-up email.2. Choose the response that fits:
- Act now — opens a message to that person, already addressed. Send it, and the suggestion clears.
- Remind me later — adds this person to your reminders instead, so you come back to it on your own schedule.
- Skip — not the right moment. It won't nag you about that same one again.
- We spoke recently — tells Relatable you've already caught up outside the app. Updates the record and resets the clock without sending anything new.
- Remove from sphere — takes them out of the sphere that produced the suggestion, so its cadence stops applying to them.
- Move to a different sphere — files them somewhere else instead of just clearing the nudge.
- Archive — for a contact who isn't relevant to you anymore.
Good to know
- Cadence-based suggestions only fire on spheres you've given a cadence. A sphere with no cadence set never generates them.
- Job-change suggestions depend on your LinkedIn connection being active and synced.
- Suggestions show up in the same places as reminders: your dashboard, the mobile app, and Friday's weekly wrap-up email.
- Sending a message to someone with a pending suggestion clears it automatically, the same as with a reminder.
- Removing someone from a sphere or archiving them from a suggestion doesn't undo anything already sent; it just stops future suggestions from that sphere.
