Connect LinkedIn
Import your LinkedIn connections with photos, titles, and companies, and get a suggestion when one of them changes jobs.
Connect LinkedIn and your connections come into Relatable with their photo, title, and company already filled in — plus a widget on every LinkedIn profile you visit, and a nudge the next time one of them changes jobs.
Why it matters
LinkedIn is often where a relationship starts, and where you first learn someone changed roles. Connecting it means that information flows into Relatable instead of staying stuck on a platform that isn't built for staying in touch. You get a fuller contact from the start, a reminder of where things stand right on their profile, and a nudge the moment their job changes — often the best moment to reach back out.
How it works
Once you connect LinkedIn, Relatable pulls in your connections — name, profile photo, title, and current company — and keeps them refreshed automatically going forward. New connections land as uncategorized contacts you can sort into a sphere. Connecting also installs the Relatable Chrome extension, which adds a small widget to every LinkedIn profile page showing the last time you spoke to that person and which spheres they're in, so you don't have to leave LinkedIn to check. From the widget you can add someone to your database or change their spheres directly. When someone's title or company changes, Relatable notices and surfaces it as a suggestion on your dashboard, since a job change is often a natural reason to reach out.
How to use it
- On the web: go to Account settings → Accounts and choose to connect LinkedIn.
- Sign in and authorize the connection. You'll be asked to install the Relatable Chrome extension — install it to finish connecting.
- Relatable imports your connections with photos, titles, and companies. This can take a little while for a large network.
- New connections land in your uncategorized contacts — review and sort them into spheres.
- Visit a connection's LinkedIn profile and look for the Relatable widget: it shows the last time you spoke and which spheres they're in, and lets you add them to your database or change their spheres on the spot.
- Job-change suggestions appear on your dashboard as they happen; open one to see the details and decide whether to reach out.
Good to know
- LinkedIn keeps syncing on its own once connected — no need to re-import.
- The Chrome extension is required — without it, connecting LinkedIn and the profile widget don't work.
- If two LinkedIn URLs point to the same person, Relatable resolves them to one contact instead of creating a duplicate.
- Job-change suggestions rely on LinkedIn keeping that person's profile current — a change they haven't updated on LinkedIn yet won't show up.
- New connections land as uncategorized until you sort them into a sphere.
