You can't keep a relationship going if you can't find the person. Search and filters get you to anyone, or any group, in your network in a few keystrokes.

Why it matters

The value of organizing your relationships disappears if you can't get back to the information fast. When search is quick and reliable, you actually use Relatable in the moment, before a call, mid-conversation, instead of digging back through old email threads to remember someone's last name.

Sometimes you're not looking for one person, though. You want everyone in a sphere you haven't talked to since spring, or everyone marked high importance but low strength. Filters get you to that group just as fast.

How it works

Search looks across everyone in your network at once, by name, email, or company, from a single search box wherever you are in the app. On the Database page, a filters panel lets you combine conditions: strength, importance, sphere, topic, company, location, source, date ranges, whether someone's never been contacted, whether they have an active reminder, and whether to include archived contacts. For fields with several possible values, you can match any of your selections or all of them, exclude specific ones, and combine conditions with and, or, and not. With AI dossiers turned on, search also understands meaning, not just exact text.

How to use it

  1. Anywhere in the app: open the search box and start typing a name, email, or company.
  2. On the Database page: click Filters to open the panel and narrow further.
  3. Add conditions: strength, importance, sphere, topic, company, location, source, date range, never contacted, has an active reminder. Combine as many as you need, and choose whether a field should match any or all of your selections, or exclude specific values instead.
  4. Include archived contacts if you want people you've archived to show up in the results too. They're left out by default.
  5. Search by meaning, not just text: if your plan has AI dossiers turned on, try something like "people who are into punk rock" and Relatable finds matches from notes, dossiers, and past conversations, not just exact keywords. See Turn on AI dossiers and semantic search.
  6. In the mobile app: search the Contacts tab the same way, by name, email, or company.
  7. Ask Whiz: describe who, or what group, you're looking for in plain language, and Whiz finds them for you.

Good to know

  • Search covers name, email, and company, and it's forgiving of typos and partial matches, not just exact hits.
  • Filters combine: match any or all of a field's selected values, exclude specific ones, and chain conditions with and, or, and not for a precise query.
  • A filter that matches nobody usually means one condition is narrower than you meant. Check whether you meant "match any" or "match all" first.
  • Filters persist in the page URL, so you can share or bookmark a specific filtered view.

  • Once your filtered list looks right, select the results and bulk-update them all at once.
